Every Hug and Every Handshake – Now I Get it!

I’m not sure any of us can say that we fully understand life and death. We all have our own beliefs and that’s okay, but that’s all they are – beliefs. What is life all about, and where do we really go when we die? I don’t let myself think about it too much because it’s confusing and sometimes scary. I take comfort in my beliefs and it keeps me from freaking out.

All my life I preferred to avoid people who have just lost a loved one. Not always, but many times. I’d tell myself things like: I’m not to bother them. I’ll make them sad if I mention their loss. I don’t need to go to the wake because they have enough people there, and we’re not even related. I won’t go to the funeral because I hate funerals, they make me cry. (You could say that’s selfish.) I’ll send a sympathy card instead. (And then forget to send it.) I always thought if I lost someone close, I wouldn’t want to see lots of people. I wouldn’t want them to say anything, or I wouldn’t care if they went to the funeral or not.

Well…my eyes have been opened! How wrong I was about death and funerals; how wrong I was to think all those things.

Aromatherapy and Meditation

With so many distractions nowadays, even the experienced meditation lovers can sometimes find it hard to relax and focus. Appropriate use of essential oils during meditation or yoga can make relaxation easier and can help to expel unwanted emotions or thoughts. Base note oils that are extracted from trees or grassy roots are most often used for grounding and are known as ‘Root Chakra’ oils. Some of these essential oils also contain a high percentage of chemicals that are known to have a tranquilising effect on the brain. They act as natural sedatives and mood enhancers.

The Amazing Sycamore Tree

#ThursdayTreeLove is a photo feature on Parul Thakur’s blog and is hosted on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.

I’m delighted to be taking part in Parul’s series because as some of you know, I am a lover of nature and I regularly take photos of trees.

This photo was taken last September in Belleek forest in Ballina Co. Mayo – actually just inside the gates of Belleek Castle

Sycamore Tree

If trees could talk (maybe they do) this is what I think the sycamore tree would say to me!

A Healer Working in The NHS! Wendy’s Story.

Hello everyone,

My name is Wendy and I’m here to tell you about how I went from being a cynical non-believer, to an accredited healer working in the NHS. I hope you enjoy my story and most of all, I hope some of you feel inspired by it.

My Story.

Thirty six years ago my dearest friend Elaine lost her husband while he was carrying out his duties as a fireman. Rescuing a cat from a tree, would appear to be one of the easiest and straight forward tasks expected from a fireman, so it’s hard to imagine how it can result in him losing his life.

‘Angelic Thinking’ is a fantastic little book written by Angel Healer, Andrew Marmion. Andrew shares with his readers some very personal information about his life. He tells how he spent years living every day in mental agony because he was destructively attached to his emotional past.
By practicing the Mental Cleansing and Refurbishment Exercise, which is the main content of this book, and because of his friendship and guidance from the angels, he changed from being a victim to being a healthy self-loving positive person.
