To make you smile

The Simple Things That Make Me Smile!

Today is World Mental Health Day.

Taking care of your mental health is vital and many of us don’t give it the attention it deserves. Even though you might feel absolutely fine, it doesn’t mean that you should ignore your mental health.

Whether you’re happy, sad, anxious, fearful, fed-up, bored, busy, or stressed always make time for yourself. Even if it’s something simple like smiling in front of the mirror!

A few days ago I read a simple but inspiring post on a blog that I discovered recently – Another 30 Thing That Make Me Happy! – and I was smiling while reading it because it reminded me of lots of things that make happy.

I think it’s an exercise everybody should do occasionally. No matter how bad your day is going, surely you can think of many things in your life that make you happy, or at least make you smile.

Write them down and allow yourself to smile your biggest smile and feel grateful for all that you have. Rather than fretting about the things you don’t have.

Try it and let me know how you get on!

Here are 30 Things That Make me Smile!

The Reveal.

The Wishing Well

The night we had been waiting for. The big reveal! Who was going to be crowned the 2015 winner of Come Dine With Me Please? Who was about to reap the rewards for all their hard work? Not to mention the trauma over the non-existent mouse. Click here to find out what I’m talking about.

I needed to look my best for the winning photo, so I decided to steer clear of alcohol and drink sparkling water for the night. Being the sober one, I offered to taxi my friends to our chosen venue, The Wishing Well Bar & Bistro in Kingscourt – Jackie’s hometown. We each invited our guests of honour to join us for our finale but my guest Mary, was partying in Manchester with my husband and Kate was off signing books somewhere. New York, I think. Deirdre was free and she was more than happy to join us.

Come Dine With Me Please – Part Three.

Doon

Great friends

26-09-15

I was having a lovely lazy Saturday morning. No rush to do anything expect relax and enjoy a healthy breakfast. I was in no hurry to get dressed and I didn’t care that I looked like I’d been dragged through a hedge backwards. That was until my son alerted me that there was a strange person walking towards our back door. It’s usually only close friends and family that enter our home through the back door, but still I leapt up from the chair in a panic. I made a high-speed dash for the hall door in an attempt to escape my unexpected caller. (The way you do when you’ve just realised that the Mafia have found out where you live!)
